Planning a Group Tour

Reservations

To qualify for group rates, please arrange two weeks in advance for a scheduled educational program and one week in advance for a general museum visit.

To schedule a visit, please complete our Field Trip Request form located on our Plan a Field Trip page. Please note this is not a confirmation. We will contact you to confirm your date and additional information.

Group Size: Educational groups of 5 or more students qualify for group rates.

Group Rates

General Admission

  • K-12 students: $5.00 each
  • Pre-K: FREE
  • Family chaperones: $5.00 each

Educational Program

  • K-12 students: $7.00 each
  • Pre-K: $5.00
  • Family chaperones: $7.00 each

School Employees*

  • FREE

* One family chaperone may be admitted for free to homeschool groups of 5-10 students. For 10+ students, two family chaperones may be admitted for free. Additional chaperones will be admitted at the regular family chaperone rate.

Payment

We can process cash, checks, Visa, and MasterCard onsite and via phone. We also accept purchase orders. You can pay upon your arrival at the front desk or request an invoice from the Program Director.

Chaperone Policies

We require one adult per five students for grades pre-K through 8 and one adult per 10 students for grades 9 through 12. Group leaders should inform chaperones of their roles and responsibilities.

Time

Please allow enough time to make the most of your visit. Self-guided tours of the museum exhibits take 1-2 hours, and scheduled educational programs take one hour. Be sure to account for the time needed to eat lunch.

Lunch

While the Basalt Rock Café is closed, we still welcome groups to eat lunch on-site. You’re welcome to bring your own lunch, or we can cater boxed lunches for an additional fee. We will reserve a space for your group to store belongings and eat, or you can enjoy the sun and eat at the outdoor picnic tables.

Columbia River Trading Co.

The museum store has many educational books, games, and toys for young children and adults. Be sure to allow a little time to shop at Columbia River Trading Co.

Hours of Operation 

9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.
The museum is closed on New Year’s, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
