Ways of Giving

Ways of Giving

Major Gifts
Major gifts can be designated for a number of initiatives, including education, research, exhibits, capital improvements, and more. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your interest in making a gift.

Annual Giving
We aggressively seek grant funds to support many special initiatives, but the Annual Giving Campaign provides for day-to-day operating costs that allow us to reach out to new audiences and ensure the continuation of public services. It provides the foundation for achieving our mission.

Thanks to the Oregon Cultural Trust, there is now an added incentive for Oregon residents. The Oregon Cultural Trust has provided a plan that will allow you to reap even better tax advantages when you provide a contribution to both the Trust and the Discovery Center and Museum.

Leave a Legacy
Charity is not limited to your lifetime. By leaving a gift to the Discovery Center and Museum in your will or estate plan, you can ensure that your assets continue to promote stewardship of the Gorge long after you are not here. The tax benefits of making charitable contributions in your will can also benefit family and friends who inherit your estate. A small bequest can provide an annual gift far into the future. Property may also be willed.

Introduce Us
Often the best way to support a cause is to inspire your friends to join in the solution. We would welcome the opportunity to host interested friends and business associates at a reception to acquaint them with our organization and mission.

Recognition
Cumulative donations above $2,500 are acknowledged on a perpetual Donor Wall in the Wilcox Wing. Donations may be made in honor of others.

Volunteer at the Sicovery Center

Volunteer at the Discovery Center

Visitors from around the world come to The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center to experience natural and cultural history in an interactive way. From exhibit interpreters to backstage administrative help, the Center's volunteers are invaluable in fulfilling our mission.

Volunteering requires dedication and motivation as well as time and effort. Many people bring skills and expertise with them, however such knowledge is not required to join us as a volunteer. Come with a willingness to learn and a desire to work with people and help them understand and appreciate our region, past and present.

Volunteers experience lifelong learning and establish lasting friendships at our facility, which is the official interpretive center of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
